“AutoPod Shorts” is a Reddit Developer Platform (Devvit) app operated by the
Spout Lore podcast. It exists for one purpose: to publish Spout Lore’s own
short videos to Spout Lore’s own subreddit on a schedule.
What the app collects about Reddit users
Nothing. The app does not read usernames, profiles, comments, votes, karma,
subscriber lists, moderation logs, or any other information about Reddit users.
It does not set cookies, run analytics, build profiles, or track anyone.
What the app actually does
On a schedule, the app:
- asks the Spout Lore publishing service which of our own videos are due to be
posted;
2. uploads the image for that post to Reddit;
3. creates the post, and a follow-up comment containing a link to the full
episode;
4. tells the publishing service whether that post succeeded, and its permalink.
What leaves Reddit
Only information about our own post: whether it was created, its post ID
and permalink, and any error message if it failed. This is sent to the Spout
Lore publishing service at `api.mypodcastanalytics.org` so our records show
what was published where. No information about any Reddit user is sent
anywhere.
Credentials
The app authenticates to the Spout Lore publishing service with a token stored
in Reddit’s app settings as a secret value. It is not contained in the app’s
source code and is not visible to subreddit members or moderators.
Retention
Records of our own posts (post ID, permalink, timestamp, success or failure)
are kept in the Spout Lore publishing service for as long as we keep publishing
records. Because the app collects no user data, there is no user data to
retain, export, or delete.
Third parties
The app communicates only with Reddit and with Spout Lore’s own services:
`api.mypodcastanalytics.org`, our media storage, and `img.youtube.com` for
video thumbnails. It does not share anything with advertisers or data brokers.

If this policy changes, the date above changes with it.
