Spout Lore is a hilarious Actual Play podcast using the Dungeon World game system, brought to life by four award-winning comedians in Canada: Abdul Aziz, Paul Oppers, Shawn O’Hara, and Jessica Tai. If you’re looking for a collaborative storytelling experience that balances high fantasy with side-splitting improv comedy, you’ve found it.

Join three “mighty” “heroes” (Tuk the Barbarian, Vyng the half-elf Druid, and Fat Billie the nine-year-old Halfling Thief) as they bumble through a post-magic world.

This is a rules-light, character-driven journey where the setting is made up on the fly; evolving from ancient hotdog-based festivals to mythic beasts of terrible power.

Whether you’re a TTRPG veteran or a fan of D&D comedy podcasts like The Adventure Zone, NADDPOD, or Dimension 20, you’ll feel right at home at our table.

Spout Lore is improvised narrative at its best: made FOR best friends, BY best friends!

Spout Lore is brought to you by listeners like yourself. If you want to check out more stuff or give us a support, go to www.p-a-t. I'll start over. It sounds like a fucking Alta Vista ad. Gather round, friends, let me tell you a tale of three heroes, noble and bold. A brute, a druid, and a thief who is but nine years old. You know them by name, you know them by deed. Their quests are famously daring. So here I sit, singing to you an adventure that is worth sharing.

Tuck is the brute, he knows not his home. He loves to sing and fight. Fingers have health, he shifts his shape and wields a spear with great might. Billy's a thief, his tiny size does mask the largest heart. Best in bread. They may not be, but their friendship outweighs their smarts. So gather round, friends, and listen close for the tale's about to start. Hello, everybody, and welcome to Spout Lore. I'm your game master, Sean O'Hara.

Joining me as always, playing Tacoma Dome, the barbarian, Abdulaziz. Hello, everybody. Playing Ving, the half-elf druid, Paul Oppers. Hello. And playing Fat Billy, the halfling thief, Jessica Tai. Hello, everyone. When last we left our heroes, they began, in earnest, planning their infiltration of the Lightguard Fort on the Four Frost Isles to recover, hopefully, Perel and Maggie from the clutches of the Magi. Some scouting was undertaken in some extremely effective stealth bushes.

We were lucky that they were growing there. We were lucky that three bushes were growing within 15 feet of each other on an otherwise empty field. Well, the last… The logic behind that was that Storm and Norman had been planting bushes close to the… Yeah. Bushes? Particular stealth bushes? Close to the fort. Storm and Norman, of course, being an old man they met during their planning, who has attempted to infiltrate this fort numerous times over 40 years.

People used to come to see the fort like a tourist attraction, but now they come to see Storm and Norman. Try and break it. Take fidgets with them. Ving kind of offhandedly agreed to find and mark Storm and Norman's legs, just for the moral victory. Yeah. Then they began their observation of the fort, discovering things like guard patterns, some effective ways to maybe climb up the walls, before Ving communed with the whispers of the island to learn more.

Discovering deep beneath the fort an ancient spirit of some form, Billy hopped into the fairy realm for a moment to try and aid this otherworldly scanning of the fort. Discovering some sort of magical object held within. Oh, yeah. Or a magic signature of some fashion. Mm-hmm. Before also noticing that this ancient spirit seemed to be taking notice of Ving, hopping out and saving Ving from a fate unknown. Then the infiltration began. Ving turned into a bird made of thorny vines. Yeah.

And really pulled off some incredible martial arts, dive bombing a group of guards from the sky. How does he do it? I don't know. It was amazing. It was maybe the coolest fight scene that we had ever done. Yeah. Yeah. The fight choreography budget has really increased for this part of the series. Billy and Tuck arrived moments later out of breath. From just climbing a wall? Yeah. Oh, one of the results of a failure or a partial success on your scouting revealed some sort of unusual guard.

Mm-hmm. A humanoid figure wrapped head to toe with large goggles and some sort of collapsing ranged weapon on their back, which appears by all accounts to be some sort of rifle of some kind. Also, Irk is here. That guy was talking to Irk. Yes. Irk. Irk. The Medjay, who is on the case for Billy, magically contracted to find the light guard tech or the Medjay text relating to the ritual used to take Ving's shape-shifting away. We broke in. Did some Weekend at Bernie's bullshit.

Billy put some guards to sleep as you entered the main keep, which you barred behind you. And in attempting to find the dungeon, Tuck got a little overexcited in his infiltration. And to be fair, found the dungeon. And he found it in some sort of Sonic the Hedgehog style rolling maneuver. I lost all of the gold rings I had collected that day. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And looked up into the stony face of Medjay. Yes.

And that is where we find our heroes now. Tuck, what do you do? I smack him in the face. I smack him in the face immediately. As soon as he enters frame, I start smacking. Yeah. Okay. You're going to have to roll a defy danger. I'm going to say dexterity first because you are at a disadvantage here. For speed. Ten. Oh, okay. Holy shit. That is maybe the fastest Tuck has ever reacted to a situation. Wow. And we're in it. Okay. Yeah. Go ahead and roll your hack and slash. Here we go. 13. Jesus.

Wow. Okay. This poor Medjay. Okay. Roll your damage dice. Holy shit. Six. Six. This is a person, right? This is someone's child. Vink sees this from halfway up the stairs. He's like, note to self, don't confront Tuck after he's fallen down the stairs. Yeah. The reason why Tuck is so angry is because he's like, I'm going to die. I'm going to die. I'm going to die. I'm going to die. I'm going to die. I'm going to die. I'm going to die. I'm going to die. I'm going to die.

The reason why Tuck is so good at this is because a lot of his self-defense trading was when he was on the streets of McCall and a lot of that happened while he was being bullied on the ground or waking up on the sidewalk to someone trying to bully you. Yeah. So this is my ideal position on my back. Shoelaces tied together. Yeah. This is basically the equivalent of a guard for the Medjay. This is not a high-ranking Medjay. So your hand arcs up.

You see, as they try and raise their hands to block you, it looks like a little sheet of water rises up with them. And the water starts frosting over as your hand is arcing towards them. Cool. But it doesn't freeze in time. And you splash right through it and just knock this dude out. You catch him with your big baseball mitt hand and just knock him to the ground. Guys, watch out. There's people down here. Guys, I'm very strong. Be careful of my reflexes. And they all know we're here.

So you guys come down the stairs to see Tuck take this guy out. And he's crumpled on the ground in as few clothes as possible as the Medjay often are. Are there more people coming? You hear some slamming from a couple floors up. Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Is there any doors? Anything? You are in the main area of a dungeon. There are two cells on each side separated by iron bars. And there is a corridor at the far end of the room. The cells are empty. Yeah. I was going to ask to discern realities.

That's what I was going to say, too. I wanted to search the Magi. Yeah. Are you trying to get information? Are you trying to find a key or some sort of thing? Just roll a d6. Two. Yeah. You find what looks to be a ring of keys. Oh, great. Take them. There's like three keys on it. Cool. Found some keys, guys. And Billy is investigating. Yeah. I'll discern realities. Okay. Of the room. 2d6 plus wisdom. Mm-hmm. Uh-oh. I got six. I laid. Well, you were searching for the keys. How is Tuck doing?

Tuck took the robe off the guy on the ground, and he's trying to put it on for disguise. I want you to understand how little rope there is already on this man. The Magi, as we know, are generally shirtless. So it looks like one of those short kimonos that middle-aged women wear sometimes. Yeah. I actually, I do like that. Since it's colder, they're wearing wide-sleeve things, but no shirts underneath. They're open all the time. Yeah. Cool. Yeah.

So it barely, it's like you got it over your forearm, and now that you're trying to get it under your bicep, it's becoming. It's becoming a real issue. But I do aid Billy. Yeah. When I notice he's trying to discern realities. Because he's pretty low down, so I just lift him up. Oh, thank you. Seven. Okay. One question off the discern realities list. What here is not what it appears to be? I like that one a lot. I feel like they're hiding something, obviously. Good question. Good question.

They wouldn't be down here if it was like for everyone to look at. Yeah. Yeah. Bing's trying all the locks. The keys. Oh. The cells that are seemingly empty. Okay. Yeah. So Billy, Tuck lifts you up, and you start being cast about the room like a lantern, as is usually the way. And you're looking at the cell doors.

Somebody that has infiltrated jails a couple times in the past, you notice that at least one of the doors, something is kind of off about the way the locking mechanism seems to be oriented. Oh, put me down. I want to try this one. All right. And I gently place him on the ground. And I give him a kiss on the top of his head. Oh, thank you. Thanks. Bing gives you the ring of keys, and you try one. But as you're turning the lock, you're like, oh, this door is already unlocked.

Like, I don't know why this lock would be feeling like it's still moving. And then you complete the lock, and you hear a click from inside the cell. And the click is the bars are. Dropping down, basically. Oh. There's a room beneath it. Whoa. Interesting. Okay. So, yeah, there's like a grinding in a way that makes it sound like maybe this room hasn't been opened in a while. And the floor of this cell starts lowering. Cool. Are you guys going into this lowering chamber? Hell yeah. I'm going.

Yeah. You can't stop me. Billy, we weren't trying to. Oh, sorry. We're all just standing on this elevator. Oh, sorry. Oh, sorry. Oh, sorry. Oh, sorry. We're like, yeah. Yeah. Boop. Boop. Boop. Boop. Boop. Boop. Boop. Boop. I just wanted to make it more intense than it was. Yeah. Do it, Billy. Jump into danger without a plan. I'm doing it. I already jumped. And the floor continues to lower for, it's not that deep. It's like maybe eight feet.

But there is a doorway that goes back underneath the main floor of the chamber above. You know what I mean? Like, it's basically right underneath. And there seems to be an unblocked. There's an unlit plinth that has like a brazier in it. And then a couple shelves kind of around the perimeter of the room. Is there anything on the shelves? Does Ving recognize any of the iconography? Yeah. You would all recognize this by this point. This looks like light guard.

Like, this looks like it was a light guard room of some kind. It looks like it was built to be a part of this fort. Is that spirit thing down here? That spirit thing that you felt? I mean, I don't want to tie in, but it did feel deep under the fort. And we are going lower. Uh, yeah. You feel like whatever that presence is, is even lower than this. This looks like it is just like it was a hidden room that the light guard kept things in. Oh. Yeah.

Tuck, this reminds you of like the Church of the Flame sort of like ceremonial braziers. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Like the guy that we saw at Flotsam. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. This looks like it was some sort of combination of prayer room and like reliquary. Cool. Is there anything we can steal? Yeah. Yeah. It's dusty in here. It's been a while since people have been in here. You think maybe the, um, even the captain's council might not know about this room. Oh, cool. What? I'm going to discern some realities.

Okay. Six. Duh. I will help you. These realities are discerning. Um, so Billy just moves Bing's hand down to like the actual part where stuff's going on. Yeah. I got an eight. Okay. Perfect. Yeah. You find, uh, an object that Billy, you help Ving guide his hand towards it because this feels like it might be the magical signature that you recognized earlier. So I want you guys to describe this object to me. It belonged to a McCollin wizard. And that's all I'm going to tell you.

I don't know what their specialty was. I don't know who they were, but it belonged to a McCollin wizard. For some reason, I thought of a string of an instrument. Oh yeah. Yeah. That would kind of make sense. Cause one of the kind of, uh, callings of the giants was like music, right? So maybe it was a giant wizard. Ooh. Interesting. Okay. Then I think I might know what it is. Okay. It's a cloth wrapped bundle. Wow. Things like, Oh my God. Cloth. Oh, this will come in so handy.

Look at all this nice cloth. It's yeah. It's actually really, it is really nice cloth. It's maybe a little mold moldy. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I already tasted it. I'm like, it's, it's mold. Yeah. I wasn't sure. I had to be sure. It's either mold or pepperoni. That's definitely mold. It's hard to tell in the light, you know, don't eat mold. Stop doing it. No, it just was round. But at this point, his immune system has got to be way better than anything. I think you're fine. Probably. Um, okay.

We open it up. What's in there. Hmm. It is a, uh, broken shard of a mirror. What's in there? Oh man. Hold it up. Look in face. Right now. You're, you just see yourselves. Wow. Hello. I knock on the mirror. No, you see your, your fist. Touch your fist. I kiss the mirror. You see your lips. Touch your lips. Okay. Well, I thought it was going to be a mirror, like in flats. I'm like, that guy tried to get us to kiss. Is there anything on the back of the mirror? Um, yeah, you can discern realities.

I discern the mirror. Oh, or no. Sorry. Very bad. Okay. Oh no, I didn't. No. Yeah. Sorry. What were you going to say? I was going to say a Spout Lore makes more sense. Oh, I could also do an ear for magic. Yeah, that's true. Cause we know this is a magical thing. Yeah. Um, and sorry, can you remind me how we changed ear for magic?

It would, that it would be like, I can kind of just, it would be like anything magical or spiritual or iconic, but like I can get a vague vibe of it instead of like knowing exactly what a spell does. Cause it was like, when I hear someone cast a spell, I know what it does immediately. Yeah. Cool. Okay. That you say something interesting, but not useful sort of thing. I guess so. Yeah. Um, that's good. Cause I rolled snake eyes. Jessica, he didn't know. It's too late.

He said, Abdul can take the turn. Okay. This is what I'll tell you. Tuck, you're looking at the mirror. You're holding it by the cloth basically like to make sure you don't cut your fingers on the edges. Yeah. And as you're looking at this mirror, really just taking in your own reflection after for a few seconds. I'm checking out what I look like in the kimono. I'm like holding it away. It looks like I'm taking a selfie is what it looks like.

Uh, and for a fraction of a second, your reflection disappears and you see what looks like a stone chamber, like a carved stone chamber with sand on the ground, beams of light cutting through the air and then it's gone. Oh, weird guys. I saw like a, like kind of like a stone. A stone chamber. Basically what Sean said with beams of light cutting through sand on the ground. It looked like it was McCall, right? Uh, it looked deserty for sure. Yeah. There was a bunch of sand. Yeah.

I think this shows you sand guys. Let me see that. I think he's going to like look at it for like really hard. Like maybe to show me where I'm from. Oh, maybe that's what it is. You see the same thing that Tuck described for just a second. So anything happened? I take the mirror. I try really hard. I hope my fists are so tight on the mirror. And for a second, Billy, you see the same thing, but, um, you feel like your point of view is closer to the ground.

Oh, like you're seeing like sand basically just below your feet and then gone. Hold on. Come back. Where'd you go? Yeah. You can't get it back. Is there anyone in there? I've been here around. You unfortunately can't get the, uh, get the, uh, get the, uh, get the, uh, get the, uh, get the image back just yet. You're going to need some time, I think, to, uh, really observe this. Okay. Wrap it up. Put it away. Yeah. Yeah. Someone else should carry this. I fall a lot. My backpack is cloth.

Actually, that is something interesting. I'd say, uh, Tuck, you're like somebody else should hold this and you drop it and it hits the ground and it doesn't break. Oh, wicked. It goes like long. I pick it up and throw it at the wall. It amazingly doesn't break. Cool. I throw rocks at it.

Uh, and then you, you guys, you guys, you guys, you guys, you guys, you guys, you guys, you guys, you guys start throwing this mirror around as it's like clanging on the walls and you hear voices from higher up go, what the hell is that? Oh no. I forgot what we were doing. Uh, yeah. So you hear voices. It sounds like they're not quite at this chamber yet, but they're, they're coming down. Is there another room we can go into? Unfortunately, this seems to be a, uh, just a room.

Is there any way we can lock the storeroom up? Cause if they don't know that's here, we can maybe hide out where they come in and investigate the, the, the, uh, the, uh, the, uh, the, uh, the, uh, the, uh, the, uh, the, uh, the, uh, the, the cell room and then leave. That sounds like a discern realities. Nice. I got eight. Okay. So what's your question? What's useful here? Yeah. Perfect. Turn this into a high little Heidi hole. Yeah.

Uh, on the wall next to like the, uh, the door frame basically that you walked through the threshold, uh, to the right, there looks to be a little key hole. Hmm. Stick the keys in, try it out. Yep. And the wall starts to rise up the, or the floor starts to rise up. It starts to rise back up, sealing off the door to the room that you're in. I sure hope this doesn't backfire. And the light starts to go out and now you are in complete darkness, but sealed away. I'm very scared of the dark.

You can make light. What? Do I have to use something to make a little? Oh, below the wisp is a move that you can use anytime. Right. I make a little wicker cat. I'm like, I'm sorry. I forgot. I just went into panic mode. Yeah. The wicker cat jumps out of this like spiraling mode of light and lands on the ground and it's just like walking around and the, uh, the wicker cat is, uh, or the wicker light. Yeah.

Uh, it's kind of hopping up onto the plinth, up onto the shelves, casting light all over the walls. And you see this old for sure. Light guard imagery, images of the God of the flame, images of light guard warriors doing battle. I just, sorry. I just like, it can be off mic, but I just had a thought like, what if this room, cause it's got the brazier and everything. What if all these, uh, like in regular light, there's doesn't look like there's anything on the walls or anything, but it's lit up.

Like you can only see it when there's a light or a fire. Oh, that's cool. Yeah. That would be sick. So there's like secrets on the walls. Yeah. Okay. So you see when you came in, you saw kind of faded images, like old flaked paintings. Uh, but the wicker cat, the wicker light passes by something and you see like a, you know, another image like over these old paintings and as she passes by, it disappears. Grab the cat. Use as a lantern heading nicely.

It's hard to get like a clear, you're catching like little bits of it, but it seems like this isn't the, uh, the ideal light for this. Can I activate Terri Larry and Chad and see if they're light? Uh, Oh, the amethyst. Yeah. Uh, yeah. The spike lights up and it's the same thing. Like it's for some reason, the, these artificial. Spirit lights. The spirit lights in the fairy light don't really seem to be doing it. I have a sun torch, sunstone torch in my thing. I'll whip that out. Try it out.

Yeah. Um, it's again, it is a similar thing. You're getting the idea that if you want, you guys are trying every light that you have, you're turning on your phone, flashlights, whatever you can do. I start scrambling around the shelves looking for anything. Yeah. Yeah. You guys get the idea at least that, um, you would need to light a fire in this. Yeah. In this plinth.

So I'm, uh, Billy starts like scrambling around the shelves and he's got the mirror to help him like with the light, try to shine light into the nooks and crannies. And then he sees the brazier behind him and he's like, Oh, can we light a fire in there? Absolutely not. This room is way too small. That is so dangerous. Are you kidding me? Do you know what fire does? I'm very hesitant. I don't want the, uh, elements to get away from us. Not in here. We're hiding. We're hiding.

But Ving, what if there's cool stuff that we don't know? The no is written on the walls and then the fire lights it up and then we know the secrets. This is how pyromania starts, my friend. You think that something cool will come out of starting fires. Ving, you never let me do cool stuff. You always tell me no. What are you talking about? You just made a cat out of light. That's so cool. Please though. I really want it. And then I go, okay, Billy, Ving and I will discuss it. Fine.

And I was like, can I talk to you over here for a second? And we shuffle six inches. To the- To a private corner. I go sit in the brazier with the mirror like, no one lets me do anything. He's thrown against the wall. Gone. All right, dude. Like, we have to like, let him make his own mistakes sometimes. Okay, well then he can light his own fire. I have a flint. If you, if you agree to this. I mean, I just, I'm really hesitant right now when everyone's up there. I can hear them.

Listen, footsteps, footsteps. Maybe now, who knows what's going to happen when we light this fire. We got to trust him to make his own choices. There's nowhere for smoke to go. We got to trust him to find a place for smoke to go. You do. Since you said there's nowhere for smoke to go. You look around the room and at the seam of the ceiling of this room and the wall, you see little squares cut into the walls at sort of like equidistant spacing. Oh, I put my hand in front of it.

I can feel like a draft. Yeah. It looks like this room was designed with people burning fires in a closed space in mind. Yeah. Come on, man. Every once in a while, we got to let him jump into danger without a plan. Every time. Every move. Okay. Okay. Okay. Here. Billy. Yeah. I can light a fire. I'm giving you this flint and this steel. Okay. Because we trust you. I'll do it. Take it. I'll do it. Thank you. Add it to your gear. Thank you. You're welcome. So I do that. I start.

I don't really know how to use it. Uh-huh. Just banging them together. Yeah. Just banging them together, getting sparks flying. Okay. Roll a Spout Lore. I like in the way that his binoculars work. He just holds it and then the fire starts. And he's like, ah, excellent. Oh, great. I'm a professional. 10. Oh. Holy shit. Interesting and useful. Okay. So you light a fire in this little brazier plinth. In the center of the room. It.

Burst to life and images shimmer into view, overlaying the paintings flaking on the wall. Oh, adding details and imagery that were obscured from your view before. Fucking sick. There's stuff written in like the old language on there. Oh, were you thinking like the fairy, like the original? Like the druid. Yeah. Oh, so sick. Sick. Sick. Sick. Interesting. Oh, and the images move. Oh, yeah. It's like old movie. Yeah. Is that lame? We have popcorn. No, that's cool.

The braziers for making kettle corn in. This is great. You find on one of the shelves a striped red and white vest and a little paper hat. So, Billy, you see as you're on the shelves kind of observing the images. You see scrawled in a flowing script what looks to be the original like druidic fairy language that you have started to read recently.

And you reach out to touch where the images are painted on the wall and your fingers like graze it in a line and the images just above your hand move with that gesture. Whoa. I jump back a bit, but then I like go back and I keep doing it. And. It's like people on horseback. Mm hmm. And the horses start. Like galloping across the wall. And when you move your hand back, they gallop backwards. Oh, I'm doing that a lot. They go. They run forward and back. Yeah.

And you can hear like faintly the sound of like hooves. Yeah. I like that a lot. Yeah. Very faint. Yeah. So cool. And like like metal on metal clashing. Mm hmm. And then I move to like another section and there's like a huge shadow like swallowing up other things. Whoa. Sick. Yeah. Ving goes above you and there's things happening in the sky above that. So it's like it take multiple people doing this dance to reveal the full story on the wall. Maybe. Interesting.

Oh, Tuck is like poking around at like the ceiling and like the images up there and he's like tracking it down and there's like a picture of the moon that he notices. So he touches the moon and then he follows it as it like progresses through the sky and it is breaking as it's falling into the ocean. Mm hmm. And then it falls on an island that looks a lot like the four frost isles. Oh my God. That's awesome. Oh my God. That's so awesome. Thanks. That was a really gratifying response. Wow.

Jessica. Very good. Oh my God. Oh my God. Re-ends in the basement. Oh. Oh. He must be. Oh God. Oh yeah. I take out the waning knife. I see if it's like behaving differently. It is. Whoa. It seems to be. It's so bright. Yeah. It's glowing brightly right now. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And now. There's so much light in here right now. Yeah. It's like you're looking like directly at a full bright moon. Oh my God. I wonder if I can tell you one more thing about the mirror. Tell us. Tell us. Tell us. Okay.

What did you roll? Tell us. What did you guys get when you roll the spell Lord to look at this mirror? 10. 10. Oh, wait. No, that was for that. For the walls. It was for the mirror. Was it 10? It was a 10. Okay. You. It is. Okay. So. Tell us. That actually. That actually scared me a little bit. Take a picture. For listeners. I stabbed the waiting knife. It's. Tell us. Fuck. Tell us the information. Give us a spell or something useful and interesting. Tell us both. Paul's got. Oh, I know.

He's going to get it. He's going to get it done. I said calm down. Put it down. Put it. Put it down. We're going to get the person downstairs up here in a second. Dancer's going to be so mad at us for that. Ving, you are more experienced now at like trying to understand kind of the more otherworldly aspects of this plane. You have a feeling that and tuck because of your magic, that this being a show, it's going to be a show. It's going to be a show.

Of a greater thing is affecting how it operates. Guys, this thing is a shard. Yeah, which affects how it operates. This thing's sharded all over the place, probably. There's probably shards all over the world of this. And if we put it together, it'll make it like, you know, like a whole thing. One giant shard. Like a shard party. We need to throw a huge shard party. Do you think there could be shards everywhere? Yeah.

I wouldn't doubt that there are maybe shards happening in different rooms in this place. No way. Bing pulls out his laptop and looks up used shard.ca. Guys, I can just feel another shard is coming. Yeah, there's another shard nearby for sure. Yeah, so this mirror is broke. I drank too much Red Bull before I came here, and I can feel a shard coming for sure. I've drank the perfect amount of Red Bull, and a shard is on the way. But yeah, you can tell that this is broken.

And if it were the full mirror, perhaps it would do something. But right now, all you're getting is like flashes of imagery of some other place. Cool. Okay, cool. Okay. And it's the one thing that is very notable, besides the fact that a mirror is showing you images of another place, which they're not supposed to do, is that it's showing you the same place every time. Oh. Okay, so back to the murals, the murals. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. The moon crashing. So this is what I'm thinking, is I'm thinking that it is both moons to begin with, that rise up from like one side of the wall, like near the shelves, the moon rises up. Oh, and things on the other side rising the other moon? Oh, yeah. Yeah. So one of, both moons are full as they, like they're going through their cycles, waxing to waning. Oh, cool.

And then something, like as you're arcing them over the ceiling as they're approaching each other one of the moons begins to a shadow begins to pass over it and the moon becomes like a deep like blood red and as they get closer as the the fuller moon begins to wane uh the red moon shatters whoa and becomes what you recognize as the coronet whoa and as they meet in the center of the ceiling the coronet encircles the waning moon oh my gosh wow and around the edges the images that billy and ving were looking at there are it looks like light guard warriors on horseback but then you notice that it's not all light guard there are armies of varying cultures different like the mural like the tapestry yeah the tapestry aquarius tower and also the one in the clearwater clear water the one that keeps showing up what was that called the breaking of the chain the breaking of the chains oh my god billy starts like rushing and running his hands all up the walls yeah so we're all having it and we all come to this big center wall like everybody's maybe like working and it like it ends in that when we all have our hands together it ends in the breaking of the chains paint but the image here is different where it was a golden rod robed wizard on the portrait that you saw that one in aquarius tower the one in aquarius tower this looks to be a woman in a long like red dress with like flowing hair is it allison oh my god is that allison uh I guess it's it's a red that is very reminiscent of the moon that you saw the blood moon yeah yeah uh and it is a woman with long hair and a long flowing red dress standing on like a hill uh holding a spear aloft it's lillian oh my god it is it's the blood moon yeah it's the blood moon yeah it's the blood moon where's rian I start I try looking for him um you see an image further away down the wall like if you're looking at this big central painting it's kind of off to one side there is a lake and next to the lake is a small pile of stones with reeds coming out yeah with reeds kind of growing up around them like a cairn it looks to be a cairn of some kind okay the same way that we could hear horses hooves there's like a there's a a song to the broken in the reeds there's a song being played as we rake over the reeds that are growing out of the stones by the lake like a sad a sad like yeah a song of passing a dirge yeah and the way that the lake is oriented in this painting it feels like something that is there's it feels like there's a longing there's a distance like it's something that is uh like it's being pulled by the tides sort of thing kind of yeah it's being it seems like it's the distance between the center of the painting and the lake is feels very emotionally significant I'm trying to look at the if there's any like landmarks where I could know where this lake is I guess you got I guess this was a 10 so we're just kind of talking about this painting yeah so billy is trying to recognize a landmark right sort of like I I do feel I it's like I hear these like sounds uh songs and I feel all the emotions that are sort of running through this paint and like over that I hear like almost like a woman's voice um what's that word where like women used to like whale oh keening keening yeah it's a very like distant sort of sound like that in the wind as it rushes through those those reeds um billy something that you see while you're looking at this lake trying to recognize uh what feels familiar about it you see on the shore of the lake a woman's voice and a woman's voice and a woman's voice and a woman's You see on the shores of this lake, buildings start to kind of sprout up and a city takes form on the shores and rising up out of the center of the lake.

It looks to be a keeper, a castle of some kind. Just sitting in the center of the water. If Tuck and Ving were to look, you would not see this. Oh, really? Yeah. It feels like something that is just like it's your memory knitting together. Whoa, my memory. Yeah. You feel like you've been there before. Billy says that. Holy fuck, my fucking memory. The fuck, bud. Memory would be a crazy thing to recall as a weird fairy child. Yeah.

So, Billy, it feels like a place that you've passed through at some point in your life. Billy, do you recognize that place? I think so, but I don't remember from when. Do you know what it's called? No. Okay. Can I use bardic lore? Mm-hmm. Because they have both gods and their servants and histories. Yeah, totally. So, you do only get one question. You don't get one for each.

When you first encounter an important creature, location, or item, your call, covered by your bardic lore, you can ask the GM one question about it. The GM will answer truthfully. The GM may then ask you what legend, song, or tale you heard that information in. Okay. What should I ask? Like, I could ask what… What? Because did… Is the thing that I described? Where, like, the moon breaking apart, a piece of it falling beneath this keep. Is that still the case? Yeah. I mean, you said that.

Okay. So, I'll honor that. I think it's… Instead of the coronet, like, fully encircling the remaining moon, I think there are pieces that are falling to Earth in different places. Oh, I really like that imagery. Oh, yeah. Spinning and, like… Different place. Yeah. Yeah. They touch down in different places, kind of in this landscape. Yeah. Okay. Oh, my God. This mirror could be made of moon. This whole island. This whole island could be a shard of the moon. Oh, my God. Norman's legs.

Is that what it is, Sean? Is this whole island? It would make so much sense. A chunk of the moon. That's really cool. Oh, yeah. Can I tell you? I'll tell you what that face was. Yeah. Didn't even consider it? Uh-huh. That's definitely what it is now. Yes. That's sick. So fucking cool. That's so fucking cool. That is so cool. So cool. So, the Four Frost Isles are a remnant of Lillian's… Lillian's moon. Yeah. God damn, that's cool. No wonder the knife, the waning knife has so much power here.

Okay. Is the question, what is the other moon? The blood moon? No, because the blood moon became the… The blood moon was Lillian's moon, right? Yes. Yeah. So, she was that moon. I thought Rian was the other moon. I don't know that we have ever confirmed what the other moon is. Oh. I think something also to consider is the reality of events and those events depicted in our world. Yeah. Yeah. The blood moon and the artwork don't necessarily line up. Okay. Yeah.

But I do want to know what this artwork thinks it is. Even if you thought about it… Yeah. …based on the history, although we've never talked about what the blood moon means. Uh-huh. I've alluded to it a couple times, but we haven't actually talked about the event. True. You realize that the blood moon and the breaking, if this is about Rian's death, that doesn't necessarily line up. That seems to be artistic license. Okay.

This is my interpretation of the history as we've established it so far. And let me know if it lines up with what you guys are thinking. Okay. But it was Lillian and Chimes got together. They had a kid, Rian. Rian became a king of the principalities. Through some betrayal, he was killed. And then Lillian lost it, became the blood moon, waged war against men. And then all the nations on the elves, the men, everything came together… The last of the giants?

…to fight against the last of the giants, to fight against the blood moon, which was destroying the world. And then the blood moon broke, which don't know idea why it broke, but then it shattered and she was trapped beneath the sea of graves by Chimes. Probably he betrayed her. That's what I have. That's my read on it so far. Yeah. That's, I think that makes a lot of sense. You're like 95% of the way there. Cool. Yeah. Wow. What's the missing 5%?

It's that the moon shattered when Rian was killed. Oh. So Lillian's grief broke the moon. Yeah. And her, like these images of her as the blood moon seem to be more representations than they are like reflections of what actually happened to the moon. So there was never actually… The blood moon is like a representation of motherhood as well. Yeah. Right. Because periods and shit. Exactly. I'm sorry. Well, you haven't just been saying periods and shit in your mind this whole time. Yeah.

This whole thing is… The whole podcast is a metaphor for womanhood. Are you guys fucking kidding me? No. I'm out now. This whole time, man. Wow. This whole podcast has been… You can never stop a lady from spouting lore. I feel like… The thing is, is because I don't think that this isn't… This is so far in the past that I think even this war is considered myth. Yeah. Legend. Like no one alive was there for it except for Chimes. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right.

Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right.

World if we consider the exodus an apocalypse this world has been through several right an age always ends in catastrophe basically like the giants had their own apocalypse that ended up with them turning into the oracle yeah this war destroyed the world very likely man our world is so fucking cool so cool it's very cool world a series of books like why aren't we lord of the ring we are the lords of our own rings I just want I want your question your question could just be what is this event yeah do you want that question I mean I at least want to talk about it and I I honestly just might anyways because I like I'm so excited about it yeah um I just want to talk about it okay but if that's not your question if you have other details that you want to know well what if what if he asks another question but you add all the stuff you want to talk about you guys have been in this situation before when I get so excited about world building I'll basically tell you anything you want to know yeah so easy prematurely ejaculate all of the information this is my premature ejaculation because I never do it the rather the paul kind it's actually a problem I take like nine hours that red rain should help all right get out the milking machine brace yourself in eight hours okay what's your question I kind of and I want your guys's input on this I sort of want to ask what is the thing under the fort I want to know yeah yeah totally and that's not depicted within this image no it's not what is it like yeah like what is this spiritual presence this ancient spiritual presence beneath the fort well we already know it's a chunk of the moon so it's got to be tied to that like maybe it's like a piece of lillian like maybe lillian's not the the eye of the storm that we found that's like most of lillian like her cognizance like but there's like pieces of her like scattered all over the world remnants of her grief yeah well yeah that's why it was so like malicious like unwelcoming in a way yeah and like so dormant and because we've been in the tomb where she is that's how she recognized my signature yes oh yeah I feel you nearby you said it was familiar sean said it was familiar yeah because what we do know at least uh based on chimes and history and the stories we've told and heard about lillian um she had a physical humanoid presence on this planet and also the moon was still in the sky so her body and the moon are not the sick they're connected but like she draws her power from the moon and like the moon draws whatever it does from her but she's she's not the moon she's not the moon she's not the moon she's not the moon she's not the moon yeah she's basically like she it seems like gods as we know them on this world are like embodiments of particularly powerful spirits yeah almost like avatars kind of of certain spirits like et in the flower like et in the flower when the flower dies et dies yeah okay so what is beneath the four frost isles you believe uh based on what you've seen in the past you believe that the moon is the one that's what ving told you and billy told you about the spiritual presence and the stories that you've heard about this event and the imagery and information you've gleaned from this room you believe that it must be a fragment of the moon what fragment though like what piece of lillian's world is it what was contained within that piece of her when the moon shattered because I see that's what it would have been I bet it was originally like everything like it was none of them were like separate feelings or anything like that but I wonder if it's like in time uh in time and also like with what maybe the druids practiced and then the magi and the fairies and giants and other things like that fed into like whatever it's perverted energy right was coming off of that oh shit so it's almost like like they fed into each other yeah like the best explanation like it was everything but over time a certain aspect of it was amplified by whatever happened nearby so maybe the druids are using this as a source of power like or maybe they're trying maybe they're the reason why there was that huge shipment of ghost route is because the druids are trying to leash this part of lillian's prez sean's coming yeah it would make sense like otherwise why else be here so what was the thing that you were thinking just now just now that thing where I was like oh my god I'm gonna be like I'm gonna be like I put my hands on my head yeah I made a face um that might be this attempt to leash this this portion of the moon spirit powerful as it might be might also be the reason they need the ghost route but also the reason they needed to take ving's power oh shit because they might need it they need the spirit walker holy shit that's why the thing underground recognized me is because it knows my blood and my spirit whoa and you have the knife on you and the knife might be required for whoever is attempting to leash the spirit might need that power oh my god this could be a trap do you think maybe this wasn't about perel the whole time and maybe it was a way to get ving am I the perel the whole time puts his finger over his lip like a mustache ving got one of those uh mustache tattoos on the side of his finger in 2010 well we are it was mardi gras we all got it it was 2009 it was a different time okay uh yeah that's a that's a very good theory that maybe maggie and perel are bait our bait yeah oh god oh my god so many layers of bluffs in this whole plan ving's mind is blown storm and norman was a plant what if he was it would be so funny if we walked into the captain's council and storm and norman was sitting there and he's wearing there with legs yeah he's wearing a match eye robe he's like it was me the whole time he's doing that like one leg up over the arm of the throne and like leaning on his elbow like nice of you to join me it's a kaiser soze kind of thing like he's walking without a limp now yeah all right well we learned a lot didn't we oh god and we've arrived at a conclusion you might have walked into a trap and the album that I heard this on it was it was archers over kings it that was that band that we came up with in Mall Brats where it was like they're the descendants of like a group of former nobility in the frozen north dark forest yeah in the dark forest and they had their power usurped from them but their whole like identity almost as royals was how good they were as archers so like all of the all the songs that this band sings are about their line and the history of their line and the album is called unto the blood moon once more and it's about the final battle against lillian yeah I do have a name for this war I don't know if I've said it oh cool I think that tuck would probably know it from like bits and pieces of information he's gained it was called the grieving nice yeah so cool so sick there was like a one person who like a very uh brutal force called the griever interesting I do like the idea that there was like one person on the other side to like on the side of the forces of man for lack of a better word I don't know if I'm wrong but better humankind doesn't work because there were elves yeah whatever you know what I mean um who was like a heroic figure who's said to have like led the battle so cool but we don't know anything about them no yeah it's this is like the story that we're telling right now about these three idiots is brushes up against so many way cooler no I love it it's so funny it's like that episode of buffy where xander's on his own and every once in a while he'll love it and he'll love it and he'll look in the window of the library and they'll be fighting some huge demon and he's just like they don't need me right now um yeah so the grieving so fucking cool that's cool okay I've said it on mike finally thank god although I did reference it by name in one of the almanacs oh cool yeah the almanac is available uh on the Spout Lore patreon to 25 backers and above as it comes out we will be releasing it eventually in a collected pdf um okay so that's what you know anything else you want to ask me that I think I've I think I've run my course on things that I know right now I'd like to roll war cry get them all to come to this room yeah I was I actually was gonna roll fights for honor because if I feel a trap coming on but you said that I have to you basically have to be squaring up with somebody to roll that and I want to also shoot first yeah when I have a chance yeah it means that billy can't be surprised so okay so tuck turns to these two once we've kind of like put all of this together and we're like okay so we have to take over the fort right like I think so a we have to fight our way out of here b we can't let them have that knife three uh I don't want to stay here forever or have anything happen to me yeah maggie and perella right we gotta get maggie and perella I get maggie and um so do you think the thing that we do now is we go back up and we fight our way in I mean we're already under yeah and there's no other way out they know we're somewhere around here right I think we should go out guns blazing I think we should also go guns blazing I want to come up these stairs okay uh so you know it's just like tick tick tick and we're all like yeah you've got it so you unlock the chamber uh the floor descends you get on the elevator ding gender on it cleaning it a guy in a red jacket with a little red hat that's like third floor reliquary and then you get back on turn the key again click click click right fight with honor okay let me stop you right there nobody in this chamber but as we were rising you could hear this I knew it I knew it the second I saw your phone I knew it that was a gun being racked Paul just racked a hand gun into the microphone a fake hand gun so we're rising so slow so slow instead of the scream it's you guys going oh shit there's no one here it looks like it looks like they came into this room and because no one knows about this chamber you think they just went oh they're not here so we can do even more surprise so that the captain's council does not know about the chamber but the medge I do because that ring of keys brought us down that ring of keys a couple of the keys you assume do unlock other cells so they probably just thought it's a every ring of keys has some keys nobody knows what they do okay it's like Billy had to turn the key a weird way basically for that chamber to open which he could do because he's a little thief little lockmaster didn't even realize he was doing it he was just like why is this he was just jiggling it back and forth but unknowingly doing a very complicated series of!

You do hear voices till like you know up and down basically these stairs so there are people nearby but they're not in this room you do have a few moments okay I take a few moments I carve storm and Norman was here in the closest like really big stone use the axe in the side of the wall I do my best I carve a like a portrait of storm and Norman massive yeah so in the time that you have to potentially prepare an ambush you spend all of that doing graffiti which I roll for you don't have to roll for this you're wasting your time willingly wow alright guys up or down let's go up up wait got to go up to go down let's get up yeah yeah okay you can go up wait it wasn't it you got to go in to get out you got to go down to get up okay so does that mean we go down should we less difficult to climb the stairs if you're going down it that's true at first but then you got to go up to get away from down hey!

What are you doing in here there is a guy that has walked up the stairs as you guys were arguing about which way to go and he's just standing there and he's got a club in his hands and he points at you goes right here and then I start sabotage again fight with honor I'm rolling plus con ten hole to get three all right oh wow I got six I need oh I will help thank you yeah totally how do you help how do I help I shoot first is what I do oh yeah totally great that'll help so two yeah two d six plus bond oh I only got four okay well at least I get some experience on a miss hold one chibi enemies already have drop on you so I think I thought it was like a rock or a dagger but it was actually a crayon yeah because I was coloring in the mural yeah great!

So Billy your danger sense like sorry I just saw Billy like run slow motion slide on your knees underneath and like kill his heel take a big swipe in his face like eyes wide and just this crayon like breaks against the back of his heel yeah oh shit and he he kicks you away as he steps forward and ving roll a d6 okay three yeah he clocks you across the face and you take three damage Wow with a stick he clubs me he clubs you Billy you're dead Billy your failure on that was on your shoot first was your danger sense is pinging so much because there are people coming from below now and above Either your allies are rallied and take plus one forward or your enemies feel fear and act accordingly.

Okay. So here we go. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. 2d6 plus charisma. Here we go. Seven plus three is ten. Holy shit. So much charisma. Okay. So describe what you do. Yeah, I pop sabotage again because I see people actually coming and then I jump from across the room and knee this first guy in the face after he kicks Billy out of the way. Okay. Yeah. So roll a hack and slash on that. Here we go. Eight. Okay. So roll your damage and then roll a d6. Nine. Oh, no. And then three. Wow. Okay.

So you pop sabotage this music bottle that somehow is not run. I keep buying new ones. Yeah. He has a monthly subscription. Yeah. And you just like scream like you just roar at these people as you jump forward and take a step forward. Take this guy down. Yeah. He it's the thing where like I hit him and then it's like one of those like Newton's cradles where he just slams backwards. Yeah. Yeah.

But as you're coming down on him, his club is oriented in such a way that it hits the ground and then jams you in the nuts a little bit. So it ignores armor. I imagine. Yeah. You take three damage fully to your nut zone and the people behind him see this happen. And they all run away. Yeah. So three people on the stairs just go and then run back the other way. I think the most unsettling thing is them seeing me get hit in the nards and then getting angrier. Yeah. Like barely react. Yeah.

So Billy and Ving tuck did this incredible leap into a smash chasing off one whole group of people who will, you know, probably try and regroup. But for the moment, they're gone as four other guards come down from the room above. You with a motley assortment of weapons. You know, somebody's got a knife. Someone's got a club. Someone's got a ball on a chain. Whoa. And they're all rushing down the stairs at you. Are these guys pirates or are they druids? These are pirates. Okay. Yeah.

I am going to run really fast and punch a bunch of their knees out. Okay. First, you're gonna have to roll a defy danger dexterity to get close enough. Okay. Plus two is 11. Fuck. Yeah. Yep. That is not a problem. That is enough of a success. I'm going to say that you could do sneak attack on this if you want. I'm going to do that. Okay. So that's. I like when you don't know what a move is and you just roll the dice and then look at me. Yeah. So let's see. Figure it out, Sean. So backstab.

Remember, you don't. You can choose to deal your damage without rolling or you can roll plus dexterity and choose these options. I will roll dexterity. Okay. So set. Seven plus two is nine. So on a seven tonight, I choose one. Yeah. I guess I'll deal damage. Deal your damage plus one D six. Holy shit. I told you guys this a thousand times. So you roll your damage die, which I believe is an eight. Six. And then you roll a D six and add it. Holy fuck. One. Okay. So seven. Seven. It is.

This is enough for you to take out two of the four. Holy shit. Okay. Cool. So you roll a D six. I punch them so hard. It's not permanent damage, but their kneecaps like move like out of place. Yeah. And that's it for them. They're not moving after that. Yeah. So you catch. You're so quick to react that you zip forward under their weapons and you smack their kneecaps out of place and the two in the front go fuck and just fall to the ground going. Oh, how do you hear tuck throw up?

Because it's, it's so gross because their kneecaps are on the sides backwards like a flamingo. Oh, I also throw up a bit. I didn't know what I was doing. There are two, there are two more guards that basically leap over Billy as they see their compatriots get knocked down. They made the mistake of jumping in the air. I'm going to meet them midair. Oh no. I have my elemental bandolier. Oh yeah. I grab a handful of water and then, um, um, um, a little bit of, um, wind.

This is the quietest I've ever heard you. In the middle of a fight. I think he just seems to look at his hand. That was so funny. Wind. Wind. Uh, so you pop one of the corks on your bandolier and there's wind in it. Cool. That's pretty, that's pretty sick. Where's this wind from? Down south. It's a fart. I farted into it. I put it in my bandolier and I was like, oh yeah, I was going to prank tech with that. Yeah. One of the primal elements, the fart breaking wind. All right.

So you've got a handful of water and a handful of water and I meet the mid, mid air and I, um, use elemental form and transfer me. My body into a form made of the raw elements. Hell yeah. Okay. I roll plus con 10, three hold seven to nine, two. That's sick. You can basically like open any of these and make a mech around you of the elements of a wind and water. Cool. Sick. So it's like this crazy fog, man. Cool. Yeah.

Like a cloud, a cloud man meeting, I'm meeting them up in the cloud and I'm like, storm clouds are brewing seven. Okay. So I get two holds. Cool. And you arrive in a form made of clouds. Yeah. Hell yeah. Uh, and I just, yeah, lightning strike down on these guys. Fuck. Yeah. So are you using both of your hold basically to do your damage? Yeah. As hard as I can on both of them on a D 10. Yeah. Cause you're using the elements on one guy. I got six. He's done.

And, uh, the other guy, I say you need a bath and I got two. And then you hit him with lightning. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. So, okay. So you take out one of them and you seriously injure another one. What can you describe this? What like L what animal form does the cloud take as you approach them? Hmm. Ooh.

It's just like, you know, when you look up at cloud and it's like, whatever you, Oh, it's like whatever you think you see, like everyone is seeing a different animal. Yeah. There's a turtle in there. Somebody sees a bottlenose dolphin. Yeah. That one looks like my dad. Yeah. I gotta call my dad. Something's wrong. Uh, yeah. So my dad, uh, made of clouds leaps towards these two Patrick O'Hara and you hit one of them with a bolt of lightning.

Basically with the, with the, the water ones, it shoots them up into the ceiling and the, the wind one, I grab a whole love and I dropped down to the ground and try and like exert more wind, but it, it wasn't as strong. Cool. But you still like fucking rock bottom. This guy made of clouds. Fucking sick. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, and you're, as you hit the ground, that cloud form dissipates and you are left on the ground with this dude's neck, like in a choke hold. Basically somebody slap on me.

He's still awake. Tuck runs up and smacks him really hard. Thank you. Uh, he's restrained. So you don't have, just roll your damage. Six. Yep. Toast. So you just walk up and smack him in the face. Yeah. Yep. He's knocked out. Um, so yeah, you chased a group of people downstairs, basically tech. Uh, um, it sounds like there aren't that many pirate guards left. You get the idea that maybe the captain's council isn't here, but now you can go upstairs and run away if that's what you desire.

Um, I go up to one of the pirates. I knocked the knee out of, and I asked him, where is Perel and Maggie? Not telling you nothing kid. You have to tell me, um, because I said, so I'd listen to a man. I would like to, I'd like to use the fairy child move to charm an individual for a while. Okay. So what does it look like? As you charm this guy? I just boop his nose, my finger because I said, so every time I say that I boop his nose, every syllable. Yeah.

I said, so he goes, okay, there, this is a guy whose knees are on the back of his leg. Yeah. He's in extreme, in pain right now. It's just like, they're, they're down below where in the deep dungeon, in the deep dungeon. What's which way do I go down? But you got, you gotta be careful kid. You should just leave. It's too dangerous. Nothing's too dangerous for me. And I run away to the way he told us to go. And the guy's sitting there with a tear going down. Once you can, he goes, he's so brave.

Oh man. Okay. Okay. So you descend the stairs. You're following basically the, the pirates that you chased. Yeah. So you continue down these spiral staircases, uh, as old as the carven chambers above you felt. You feel the weight of ages as you continue down the staircase. It goes from carved steps to just like stones placed. Yeah. Things that look like they've been worn by dripping water over millennia.

And, and there is a point in your descent where the color of the stone changes from like a deep gray to like an alabaster white. Whoa. And you begin to hear some voices and you hear torches burning like the flickering and guttering of torches. And then you also hear through, it sounds like gritted teeth, extreme pain. Oh, oh, you guys are fucked now. They're coming and they're going to get us out of here. And you're going to be sorry you ever fucked with us. Is it Maggie?

It sounds a lot like Maggie. That's awesome. And you come down the stairs into a chamber of the same alabaster white stone of some form. Ving, this stone looks totally foreign to you. You have no idea what that is. This is, and you enter this tall chamber, probably 10, 15 foot high ceiling, kind of in this rough dome shape. And on the far end of the room, you see two stone pillars that reached to the ceiling. Hmm. There's still egg tights that connect to the floor. Yes.

There's still egg tights that naturally descend from the ceiling to the floor and chained to one on her knees is Maggie Cole. It looks like she's been worked over. Whoa. Um, but she's like beaming as she catches sight of you through one swollen eye and a chain to the other pillar. Unconscious is parole untouched and unconscious. He passed out instantly. You can see a little puddle of sick next to him. They punched him once.

There's like, there's a transcriber sitting behind him, but it was still filling out all the guts that he spilled. Immediately writing down his entire life story. It was just recipes though. Uh, you see the group of, uh, pirates that tuck chase down the stairs, standing very close together, like shaking weapons, rattling in their hands as they see you enter the room in the middle. You see a roughly hewn altar of some kind that looks like it's made out of a different kind of stone.

Like it was brought in here over the stone. You see spread like a skin or a hide. And facing, uh, upwards, you see what looked like writings and drawings on this hide and standing behind this altar between the altar and Maggie and Perel. You see, and you see Roth. What the fuck? Roth. That's where we're going to end it for this week. He was in the library. I'm your game master, Sean O'Hara. Joining me as always playing Tacoma dome, the barbarian, Abdul Aziz.

So long playing Ving, the half-elf druid, Paul offers by playing fat Billy, the, the halfling thief, Jessica tie. Bye everyone. Thanks as always to Aaron Reed for our intro and outro music. Uh, thank you to all of our supporters around the world.

If you want us to support the show and get access to a bunch of cool bonus stuff, including a whole, uh, world of blades campaign set in the high spear mall, uh, starting the cool treat kids, uh, almanac entries released monthly and a variety of other cool shit. Uh, check us out at patrion.com slash Spout Lore or Spout Lore.com slash money, please. And we'll see you next time. And so ends the tale of adventures three who tried the best they can, though dumb and scared and lost.

Maybe for times of breast in revelry. And though our journey may be like a conclusion, we will not leave you without a resolution. Return next week to hear some more whilst you commute or do your chores. And for you, I gladly.
